About Indie Music Alliance

Indie Music Alliance (I’M A) is a global online music industry directory and network built specifically for independent musicians and the professionals who support them. Think of it as the go-to resource hub for indie artists who need to find, connect with, and hire the right people and services to grow their music careers — all in one place.
It’s the heartbeat of what we do. Indie Music Alliance exists to remove the guesswork from building a music career. Instead of spending years trying to track down the right manager, studio, publicist, or photographer, artists can find vetted professionals across 44 industry categories in one searchable, easy-to-navigate directory.
No — and that’s actually what makes it different. IMA is not a place to post updates, share videos, or promote your latest release. Artists already have plenty of platforms for that. IMA is designed for direct, purposeful connection between independent musicians and the industry professionals who can help advance their careers.
IMA is built for two groups: independent musicians who are looking for resources, services, and industry professionals to help them build sustainable careers — and industry professionals and businesses who want to be discovered by and connect with independent artists from around the world.
The mission of Indie Music Alliance is to empower independent musicians with the tools, connections, and resources they need to build sustainable careers on their own terms. The modern music industry no longer requires a label deal to succeed — IMA exists to make sure every independent artist has access to the same network and opportunities that were once reserved for signed acts.

Features & How It Works

Joining is completely free. Simply create a free account at indiemusicalliance.net, then log in and create your listing. Once your listing is submitted and approved, you can verify it to show the community it’s an active, legitimate profile. The whole process takes just a few minutes.

Yes! One of IMA’s most useful features is that a single account can support multiple listings. For example, a musician who also works as an audio engineer can create one listing for their band and a separate listing for their audio engineering services — all managed from the same dashboard.
Each listing includes direct contact information such as email, phone number, and links to websites or social media profiles. When you reach out through IMA’s messaging system, your message is delivered directly to the recipient and also arrives in their email inbox, so nothing gets missed.
Every listing includes a description of the service or artist, contact details, and any relevant links. Visitors can learn exactly what a business or artist offers and reach out directly without any middleman in the way.
Yes. When you create a free account, you unlock the ability to save favorite listings so you can bookmark the businesses and artists you’re interested in and revisit them from your personal dashboard whenever you’re ready.
No. Your account registration details remain private. Only the information in your public listing is visible to other users of the platform.

Section 03

The Directory & Categories

Indie Music Alliance goes well beyond the traditional music industry categories. The directory includes 44 business categories covering everything an independent artist could need across their entire career — from A&R Agents, Managers, Talent Buyers, Booking Agents, Record Labels, Distributors, and Publicists, to Photographers, Videographers, Graphic Designers, Web Designers, Independent Filmmakers, Recording Studios, Rehearsal Spaces, Sound Engineers, Music Lawyers, Music Licensing specialists, Producers, Promoters, Venues, Touring Support, Merch Companies, and even Musician Wellness professionals. If it can help an indie artist’s career, it’s here.
Absolutely. Musicians are a core part of the IMA community. Artists can list themselves as Bands, Solo Artists, Singer/Songwriters, DJs, Composers, Duo Artists, or Looping Artists, and tag their genre so industry professionals can discover them. IMA supports over 20 genres, from Rock and Hip-Hop to Bluegrass, Jazz, World, EDM, and more.
You can search by keyword, browse by category, or filter by location. For the best results, use specific search terms like “music copyright lawyer in Nashville” or “recording studio in Denver” rather than broad terms. The more specific your search, the more targeted your results will be.
Yes. IMA supports location-based searching by country and, for U.S.-based searches, by state. Whether you’re looking for local support or exploring international opportunities, the location filters make it easy to find exactly what you need.

Section 04

Global Reach & Accessibility

Yes, IMA has been a global platform from day one. Artists and industry professionals from around the world are welcome to join and create listings. While Colorado currently has the most complete regional representation in the directory, the platform is actively growing its global community.
The Indie Music Alliance website is accessible in 103 languages through the translation tool located in the header of the site, making it one of the most accessible music industry resources for non-English-speaking artists and professionals worldwide.

Section 05

For Industry Professionals & Businesses

IMA gives your business direct visibility with a highly targeted audience — independent musicians who are actively looking for the exact services you offer. It’s free to create a listing, and it puts your business in front of artists across the globe who are ready to move their careers forward. There’s no better way to reach motivated indie artists who need what you do.
The IMA community includes a wide range of professionals across every stage of an artist’s career, including booking agents, talent buyers, managers, publicists, labels, distributors, producers, recording studios, entertainment lawyers, music licensing companies, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, web designers, merch companies, promoters, venues, and many more.
When an artist finds your listing and wants to connect, they can reach out via the contact information in your listing. Messages sent through the platform also arrive directly in your email inbox, so you’ll never miss an inquiry.
